The Overwatch 2 community is abuzz about the upcoming update, as Season 13 looms on the horizon. While an official teaser trailer will be released later today (October 10), we already know that there will be no new hero release or new maps for Season 13.

Players can look forward to new updates to refresh their Overwatch experience, including the new Halloween-themed Battle Pass, hero rebalancing, map reworks, and the My Hero Academia collaboration.

Interested in finding out more? Grab your snacks and take a seat; here’s everything we know about Overwatch 2 Season 13 so far, including its release date.

Overwatch 2 Season 13: Release Date

According to the current in-game Battle Pass timer, Overwatch 2 Season 12 will end on October 15, 2024, leaving room for Overwatch 2 Season 13, titled “Spellbinder”, to go live on the same day. This is keeping in tradition with Blizzard's Tuesday releases for OW2.

While no official release times have been confirmed, Blizzard Entertainment's patch releases for Overwatch 2 usually adhere to the global timelines outlined below:

  • 11 AM PT
  • 2 PM ET
  • 6 PM BST
  • 7 PM BST
  • 8 PM CET
  • 4 AM JST
  • 5 AM AEST

As the new patch notes are made live across all worldwide servers, all in-game queues will be disabled to allow the changes to take effect. Players will be advised to exit the game to download any new updates for Overwatch 2 through the Battle.net launcher.

Overwatch 2 Season 13: Mythic Skin

With every new OW2 season comes a new Mythic Skin! This new Mythic will join the likes of the 12 other Mythic Skins already available in Overwatch 2.

While we don't yet know who the exact recipient for the Season 13 Mythic Skin will be, our bets are on it being a Tank Hero since they only have three Mythics (Junker Queen, Sigma, and Orisa), while the other two classes have had a few Mythics already.

Community speculation suggests that Reinhardt will get a Mythic skin to match his Season 11 Mythic Weapon. Meanwhile, others think D.Va would be the perfect fit for the mystical theme of Season 13 with a dedicated Witch skin.

Like previous seasons, Mythic Skins and the new Mythic Weapon can be purchased from the Mythic Shop for 80 Mythic Prisms to unlock the base skin and all the customization options. You can add Mythic Prisms to your account by leveling up the Premium Battle Pass or purchasing Mythic Prisms outright with cash.

Here are the prices for all the Mythic Prism bundles in the in-game store.

  • 10 Mythic Prisms: $10
  • 40 Mythic Prisms (+10 Bonus): $40
  • 75 Mythic Prisms (+25 Bonus): $75

Players can use their Prisms to buy the new season's Mythic or a Mythic Skin they've missed in previous seasons, except Anubis Reaper from Season 12

Overwatch 2 Season 13: Battle Pass & Store Theme

Based on the Overwatch 2 Season 13 Spellbinder theme, we can assume that the Battle Pass may be Halloween-inspired and follow a magic theme of witches and wizards. We could see some of our favorite heroes decked out with witches' brooms, crystal balls, and pointy hats.

As always, the Premium Battle Pass will be available for 1,000 Overwatch Coins. Grab it ASAP as soon as Season 13 goes live on October 15 to start grinding through all the tiers and unlocking rewards. The tiers include more Overwatch Coins, which you can save for a rainy day or use to buy next season's Battle Pass! You'll also get a season-long XP boost, making it worth the investment.

We can expect previous Halloween-themed skins to hit the in-game shop, including Witch Mercy, Witch Kiriko, Pumpkin Wrecking Ball, and many other spooky skins.

Fans have speculated that an unreleased Ashe skin may finally appear in Spellbinder's season content. The skin shows Ashe wearing a skull-inspired mask, with Bob looking like a spiritual apparition with glowing colors. Will this skin appear in the Battle Pass, the in-game store, or not be featured at all? We'll have to wait and see.

Overwatch 2 x My Hero Academia

Do you have what it takes to rival All Might and go Plus Ultra? After the success of other anime crossovers like One Punch Man and Cowboy Bepop, Overwatch 2’s latest collaboration is with My Hero Academia, giving five heroes an anime makeover.

Here are the confirmed Legendary skins in the Overwatch 2 x My Hero Academia collection. There will also be an Ultimate My Hero Academia bundle, allowing players to unlock all five skins and other cosmetics like Victory Poses and Highlight Intros.

  • All Might Reinhardt
  • Uravity Juno
  • Deku Tracer
  • Himiko Toga Kiriko
  • Shigaraki Reaper

Overwatch 2 x My Hero Academia is dropping on October 17 and lasting until October 30. In-game challenges will also go live, allowing players to earn free Battle Pass XP, the “Mighty” Weapon Charm, and five free My Hero Academia-themed sprays to add to their collection. Become the villain or transform into the hero you’ve always wanted to be: the choice is in your hands.
